The famous mistake

Mauritius became famous for it postal stamp issued in the British colony in 1827. In fact, there are two stamps: an orange one and deep blue one. Why is it so rare and valuable? Joseph Barnard, the engraver made a mistake and put on the words "Post office", but the right ones were "Post paid". Only 3000 copies were issued.
