Sugar Beach – is a beautiful resort situated on the west coast of the Island. His contemporary colonial architecture style reminds of the past when Mauritius was the main Sugar Exporter to Europe. Its antique style is complemented by the excellent level of service which creates a special relaxed atmosphere. The hotel consists of a main building, the Manor House and 16 elegant villas located on the north and south of the main building.  Sugar Beach had a complete renovation and re-opened to guests in August 2008 and offers a good level of five-star holiday at a relatively reasonable price. Covering an area of 12 hectares with half a kilometer of beautiful sandy beach, next to La Pirogue hotel also owned by the group of hotels, Sun Resorts. Guests can use the facilities of both hotels that provide almost unlimited choice of leisure activities. Sugar Beach is proud of its magnificent garden with its beautiful palm avenues combine with perfect green lawns and picturesque lakes inhabited by colorful fishes and flocks of Swan. Ideal for families or romantic honeymoon holidays.

All rooms are located in 16 elegant two-storied villas and the main building so called the Manor House. The rooms are spread by 10 or 12 in each villa with private terrace or balcony. The interior design of the rooms evokes the prosperous period of Sugar Estates plantation combining harmoniously Luxury, and modern comfort. The interior of the rooms are bright and light with a beautiful draping of veil on the windows which gives to the room a romantic aspect with its comfortable dark wood furniture. All rooms have either front or side view of the ocean.

In all rooms:

Furnished terrace or balcony, telephone with direct dialing, Wi-Fi in the room at an extra cost, safe, air conditioning, minibar, LCD-screen TV with satellite channels, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, luggage rack, dressing, Iron and Ironing board available upon request, electrical shaver socket (110/220 volts).

Standard Garden / Ocean Rooms 40 м², with terrace or balcony. 80 rooms are located in the Manor House on ground, first or second floor and 84 rooms are located in the villas on the second floor. The room consists of one King Size bed or two Queen Size beds. The Bathroom has bath, shower and toilet. Several pairs of this room category may be connected by a door. One Standard room is specially equipped to the convenience of guest on wheelchair.

Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children up to 12 years on extra bed. 

Superior Garden / Ocean Rooms 40 м², with terrace located on the ground floor only. Similar to the Standard rooms with one King Size bed or two Queen Size beds. The main difference is that the bathroom of the Superior room has a separate bath and shower and a larger dressing. Several pairs of this category may be connected by door and as they are on the ground floor it is ideal for families with children.

Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 2  children up to 12 years 

Villa Suites 80 м², with terrace. These one-bedroom suites are located on the ground floor of the villas closest to the beach and have beautiful ocean view. The suite consists of one bedroom with a luxurious bathroom and a spacious living-dining room and a guest’s toilet. WiFi connection is available free of charge. Please note that there is no possibility to add an extra bed to the suites. One of the suites can be connected to a Superior room.

MON PLAISIR 350 seats 

Mon Plaisir is the main restaurant overlooking the pool and entertainment area where every evening live music and shows are performed. Guests can have dinner inside the restaurant or outside on the terrace.  The restaurant offers daily live cooking buffet. Open for breakfast and dinner

7.30 am to 10.30 am and 7 pm to 10 pm

MON PLAISIR BAR 

The bar is located at the entrance of the main restaurant. With a Parisian street café atmosphere, this is the perfect place for an aperitif before dinner. The bar serves a variety of well known Whisky, Brandy and rum. A large selection of Cigars is also available at the bar.

Open daily until midnight.

TIDES BEACH RESTORANT & BAR 100 seats

TIDES RESTAURANT 

Located on the beach the restaurant offers to guests the pleasure to compose their own platter from the centerpiece counter of fresh shellfish, oyster, mussels, Sushi and Sashimi.

12.30pm to 2.30pm and from 7.30pm to 10pm

TIDES BAR 

The main bar located on the beach with view on the ocean. In the heart of the hotel by the pool, every evening as from 21.30 there is live music and folkloric shows. Open daily from 9.00 am until late at night the bar will not close until the last customer leaves.

Open for light lunches and also for afternoon tea and coffee served with pancakes and pastries.

CITRONELLA'S CAFE 120 seats

Between La Pirogue and Sugar Beach and facing the sea the ideal place for a romantic candle light dinner. The restaurant offers traditional Italian dishes for both lunch and dinner.

12.30pm to 3pm and from 7.30pm to 10.30pm

SPORTS BAR 

Located next to the tennis courts, offers refreshing drinks for the athletes. The Sports Bar also broadcasts sporting events and football matches for sports fan residing at the hotel. 

AURA SPA

This is one of the few spas in the world, where all the rituals are carried out on the technology and well-known Italian brand Germaine de Capuccini. The Spa comprises of both single and double treatment rooms. The spa also provides a Shiatsu treatment area as well as a lovely Turkish Hammam. The hammam comprises of rooms with different heating temperatures, mask and wrapping heated marble table. The Spa also offers traditional oriental massage using black soap.

BOAT HOUSE

Activities free of charge: Kayaking, laser-sailing, pedal boats, glass-bottom-boat rides, snorkeling, sailing sport catamaran windsurfing, aqua gym classes.

Chargeable activities: Scuba-diving (PADI courses available), big game fishing, waterskiing, parasailing, banana boat and super tube rides, catamaran cruises

SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT

The Gymnasium of 300m² is well equipped with the most modern equipment. Air conditioned the fitness center offers a range of multimedia cardio equipment, air controlled strength machines, body building and free weights equipment.  A special space dedicated to martial arts like Taebo, kickboxing, judo and karate. Indoor and outdoor Yoga, aerobics and stretching daily classes are also offered.

Other sports activities are offered by the hotel: Water aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball, badminton, football, table tennis, bicycles and horse riding 

KIDS CLUB

Sun Kids Club

The club is built in the form of a gingerbread house from Andersen’s fairy tale “Hansel and Grettel”. Open from 10 am to 10 pm welcoming children from 4 to 11 years. The club offers sports, educational and entertainment program developed in accordance to children’s age. For the kids: tennis, golf, and windsurfing, learning of sailing techniques, excursions and environment protection activities. At night special entertainment program is organized as well as theme dinner with adapted children’s menus.

Children under 4 years can join the kids club but have to be accompanied by their babysitter. Nanny is invited with an additional cost.

TEEN CLUB

For teen from 12 to 17 years the club offers sports activities, entertainment program, excursions, night club and theme parties, barbecues on the beach.

The Sports Bar is turned into night club with professional DJ – The funniest place on the island for teen generation.

OTHER FACILITIES & SERVICES 

Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the resort. Internet access with e-mail is provided at the Sports Bar. The hotel also has a Library located in the Manor House, business assistance, baby sitting services, florist, foreign exchange, medical room with qualified nurse in attendance and shoe cleaning services.
